DULUTH — Officials will host a ribbon-cutting for the completed early phases of several Rogers Bridge Park trails on Thursday.
The city of Duluth’s parks and recreation and planning departments will cut the ribbon at 2 p.m., opening early parts of the Rogers Bridge Greenway Trail, River Overlook and Bikeway Trail.
The Greenway Trail and River Overlook were largely funded through grants from the state-level Department of Natural Resources. They run adjacent to the Chattahoochee River and are the beginning of a larger planned trail system that will allow bikers and pedestrians increased access along the river.
The Bikeway Trail connects Rogers Bridge Park to nearby Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
The total cost of both projects was $295,000.
Rogers Bridge Park is located at 4291 Rogers Bridge Road. For more information, e-mail Duluth parks and recreation director Kathy Marelle at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 678-417-9269.
