GAB: Networking group gives to charity

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Greater Atlanta Associates in Networking ended the year with an excess balance in its checking account. The independent networking group decided to use the money to help those in need in Gwinnett County.

Members donated $500 to the Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry, an organization formed in 1995 by local churches to provide a central location for charitable work

LCM primarily provides assistance with food, but also helps with utility bills and prescription drugs like insulin.

Greater Atlanta Associates in Networking has been meeting since 1994 with an aim to help its members grow their businesses through referrals.

Space exhibit continues through March

BUFORD -- The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center has announced that its Living in Space exhibit will continue until March 3 due to its popularity with visitors.

"The Living in Space exhibit has been extremely popular with visitors and school groups," said Jason West, director of development. "The staff is excited to be able to continue to offer it as a part of the GEHC's traveling exhibitions for an additional two months."

The exhibit allows visitors to learn about life as space station crew members for a day as they engage in a number of astronaut activities.

Living in Space was created by the Children's Museum of Memphis and is sponsored locally by Cisco and the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center Foundation. The exhibit is included with admission to the center.

The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center is located at 2020 Clean Water Drive, Buford. For more information, call (770) 904-3542, or visit www.gwinnettehc.org.
