LAWRENCEVILLE -- For the eighth year, the city of Lawrenceville is throwing an all-day, family friendly New Year's Eve celebration in the square, and volunteers are needed.
The Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association is looking for 20 people to work one of two shifts during the day. From 3 to 6 p.m., 16 volunteers help with the information and ticket booths, plus oversee the children's mask making station. Everyone teams up for the massive clean up before night fall.
From 9 p.m. to midnight, four volunteers sit at the information booth and help with the Lawrenceville Ball at the Historic Gwinnett Courthouse. If you work this shift, you will hear all of the live music performed throughout the night, including Abbey Road LIVE!: A Beatles Tribute and Mike Rogers Band. At midnight, ring in the new year with a fireworks finale.
"It won't take up the whole night," Lauren Norris of LTTA said. "It's fun, not strenuous -- you can still celebrate New Year's Eve, but this is with some community involvement."
If you are interested in volunteering, call Norris at 678-226-2639 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
