Central Florida defensive coordinator Ted Roof will be the featured speaker at Central Gwinnett's high school football banquet Jan. 12 at the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville.
Roof, a Central grad who was a standout linebacker at Georgia Tech, has been a longtime college football coach at stops that include Tech, Duke (where he was head coach) and Auburn (where he won last season's BCS National Championship as defensive coordinator). He recently left Auburn to rejoin his old boss from Tech, Central Florida head coach George O'Leary.
The public is welcome to attend the banquet -- tickets are $12 each -- but must RSVP by Dec. 27. To RSVP or get more information, email to j_westmoreland@bellsouth.net.
