DULUTH -- After three straight wins, including a 1-0 shutout of South Carolina on Saturday, Gwinnett Gladiators' Jeff Jakaitis was named the ECHL's goaltender of the week Tuesday.
The Rochester, Minn., native posted a 1.00 goals against average and .964 save percentage while leading the Gladiators to a 3-0-0-0 record. He earned a 4-2 win over Florida at home on Thursday and followed that up with 2-1 and 1-0 wins in South Carolina over the weekend.. Jakaitis' efforts in net helped the Gladiators remain in first place in the ECHL's South Division and move into a tie for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 34 points. The 28-year-old, who is in his fifth pro season after playing at Lake Superior State, has a 1.90 GAA and a .941 save percentage in 12 games this season for the Gladiators.More like this story
