HOSCHTON -- Third-year program Archer won the JV Gwinnett County wrestling championships on Saturday at Mill Creek High School. The Tigers also won the varsity county tournament on the same day.
Archer had 10 county placers, including five champs, to score 236.5 points for the tournament win. They beat second-place GAC (191), Mountain View (180) and North Gwinnett (150).
Jaali El-Shaakir (126 pounds), Trey Rinehart (132), Brandon Weber (145), Joey Salgado (160), and M.J. Couzan (285) were county champs for the Tigers. Kale Brazier (152) was runner-up, Collin Williams (220) was third, Stephen Bluse (182) and O'Dell Day (100) were fifth and Tommy Do (120) was sixth.
Berkmar's Ethan Castaneda (138) and Jose Acosta (195) were also county champs.
