School board member injured in motorcycle accident

Daniel Seckinger, a member of the board of education, was in stable condition Sunday following a serious motorcycle wreck Saturday morning.

Seckinger spoke briefly on the phone Sunday from his hospital room at Gwinnett Medical Center. He said medical staff moved him out of the intensive care unit, but he was still in some pain.

Seckinger suffered several broken bones and said he may be going in for surgery over the next 48 hours.

District spokesperson Sloan Roach had confirmed earlier that Seckinger had been hospitalized following Saturday's incident.

"Mr. Seckinger and his family are in our thoughts at this time," Roach said.
