-- Open since: 1988

-- Owners: Brothers Miguel, Eddie, Roel, Alejandro and Raul Romero

-- Location: The Lawrenceville location is situated off of Sugarloaf Parkway in between Chick-fil-A and McDonald's.

-- Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays

-- Atmosphere: Customers will feel like they're sitting in a Mexican cantina. The walls are covered with art from a Mexican artist with scenes of a market place that include a mariachi band, food and a couple talking in the street. During this time of year, the restaurant is decorated for Christmas with red, green and white streamers, pinatas and ornaments. The employees even painted the front windows wishing the guests "Feliz Navidad."

The dining room has plenty of space to accommodate large parties; plus there are two round tables near the front door to serve groups.

The bar has a neon sign proclaiming it a "tequila bar," but you can get other drinks there. The restaurant offers a large variety of margaritas and beers from Mexico.

"People like our concept," Miguel Romero said. "Our atmosphere is charming, friendly and welcomes everyone."

-- Menu: This menu is created from family recipes and from years of living in Los Angeles -- consider it a mishmash of the two worlds. Everything served is made from scratch, including the sauces. The owners take pride in their tamales, which is their mother's recipe. It hasn't changed since they were little boys.

Taqueria Los Hermanos has many signature dishes, but one stands out as the most popular: the fish tacos. Tilapia filets are cut into "fingers," breaded and deep fried. The fish is served on a flour or corn tortilla (customer's choice) with a jalapeno tartar sauce and spicy roasted banana peppers.

The restaurant doesn't change the main menu much, but they are always creating new plates for guests to try.

"We keep our core menu, but on a weekly basis we come out with a new recipe," Romero said. "Each chef at each restaurant gets to decide the specials for the week."

-- Things you might not know: There are three other locations: Suwanee, Lilburn and Tucker.
