Mrs. Jewell Marshall Gravitt, age 81, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles D. Gravitt; parents, Paul and Mallie Waldrup Marshall; sisters, Betty Vaughn, Jean Coats, Pat Maxey and Janet Clarke. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Faith Russell, Suwanee, GA; granddaughters, Mary Blackmon Spencer and husband, Travis, Sugar Hill, GA, Krystle Blackmon, Atlanta, GA and Katie Russell, Suwanee, GA; three great grandchildren, Elise Flanagan, Breonna Haney and Gavin Spencer; brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Pat Marshall, Sugar Hill, GA; special family friend, Martin Campbell; sister-in-law, Carolyn Gravitt, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Gravitt was born on November 27, 1930 in Gwinnett County, GA. She attended Sugar Hill High School in Sugar Hill, GA. She retired after thirty-five years of service from Georgia Casualty Insurance Company in Atlanta, GA. She was a member of Clairmont Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA, member of the Cross Keys Eastern Star, the Tu-Sh-La Club in Atlanta, GA and the Ladies Tucker Shriners Club. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Murphy and Rev. Jeff Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford, GA.
