ATLANTA (AP) — For the 17th straight month, Georgia's tax collections rose 7 percent last month and are nearly 7 percent ahead of last year.
The figures released on Friday by Gov. Nathan Deal show net tax collections for the state in November totaled $1.35 billion, an increase of $88 million compared to November 2010. Through five months of fiscal year 2012, net revenue is $6.7 billion, up $427.5 million or 6.8 percent from a year earlier.
The overall net revenue increase is a result of increases in various tax categories, including individual income tax collections for November increasing nearly 3 percent, sales and use tax collections were up nearly 15 percent and corporate income tax collections were up 65 percent from November 2010.
