Providence School's eighth Carter Martin Classic fundraiser basketball game and auction raised $84,000 for the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorder Services at Children's Heathcare of Atlanta.
The annual event held at the Stars' basketball home opener honors the life of Carter Martin, who died as a second grader in 2004 with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. In its eighth year the Carter Martin Classic has raised more than $710,000 for the Carter Samuel Martin Experimental Therapy Research Fund, a fund within Aflac.
