Special Photo Last month, students at Greater Atlanta Christian School learned that their MacBooks would be exchanged for MacBook Airs prior to Christmas.
NORCROSS -- Greater Atlanta Christian School students will get an early Christmas gift this holiday season.
All sixth- through 12th-grade students get to exchange their current MacBooks for the new 11-inch MacBook Air. Faculty also will receive a new MacBook Air.
School officials said the new computers will provide enhanced speed and processing. Students of the school chimed in on the new computers and what it will mean to them:
Freshman Katie Erwin said it will help her in her studies.
"Often I have projects. The Airbook will be lighter, easier to manage and quicker. GAC is helping me be head of the game when I enter college."
Senior Isaiah Hill said he was "excited to have this device even for my short time left at GAC. It's more advanced, has many new features and I love having the updated software."

Parkview High School JROTC gets naval honor award
LILBURN -- Parkview High School's Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps was recently honored by receiving the Naval Honor School Award.
JROTC units are selected by the area commander for getting the highest overall rating during the school year. Units are designated Naval Honor Schools by the Commanding General Training and Education Command in Quantico, Va.
The designation is given to 20 percent of the JROTC units in the nation in recognition of a unit's exemplary performance during the area commander's inspection.
Parkview High School Marine Corps JROTC's accomplishments over the past year include Naval Honor School, first place in State Drill Competition, second place nationally in orienteering, state semifinals in rifle competition, over $60,000 in cash and toys collected for Toys-for-Tots, averaged 40 hours per cadet in community service hours, two appointments to the U.S. Naval Academy, one appointment to West Point, five ROTC scholarships and numerous academic scholarships.
