Student charged in school bus fight

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Arrest warrants have been issued for a Collins Hill High School student involved in a school bus fight that allegedly ended with the bus driver being struck in the face.

Tiffani Nicole LaSaine, 18, was charged this week with simple battery and affray in connection with the incident that occurred on a moving bus on Oct. 11. According to warrants and reports, the bus was en route to Collins Hill High School when a fight broke out between LaSaine and three other female students.

The driver stopped the bus and attempted to stop the fracas when she was "struck in the face, lip and shoulder." The driver was not sure which of the students struck her.

The other three students involved were juveniles, Gwinnett County schools spokesman Jorge Quintana said.

Arrest warrants were issued about six weeks after the initial incident because "our school resource officers always do a thorough investigation, interviewing all parties involved," Quintana said.

Six weeks is a joke to wait to make arrests. No wonder these kids get away with murder. By then, everything will be settled and back to normal and they will get a slap on the wrist.
