LAWRENCEVILLE -- A Flowery Branch woman has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated stalking after separate incidents at a pair of Buford bars.
Mary Graces Wages, 36, was most recently arrested Nov. 25 after an alleged confrontation with her victim at 37 Main, a bar in downtown Buford. According to a police report, Wages "aggressively" approached the victim, yelled obscenities and flipped her off.
The incident was broken up quickly by bar security and an off-duty police officer working the door, but police said the victim later received a text message from Wages' husband reading, "(Expletive) you, now Mary is going to jail for aggravated stalking because of you."
And Wages was, but because of bond condition stemming from another, more violent incident a month earlier.
According to a report from that incident, Wages approached the same victim on Oct. 16, this time at the Dos Copas restaurant on Hamilton Mill Road.
Multiple witnesses told police that Wages attacked the woman with a beer bottle. Wages reportedly became "very angry" when she saw a male speaking with the victim even after she had told him not to.
"In (surveillance videos) I saw Wages walk up to (the victim) and strike her in the head and throw her on the ground," a responding officer wrote.
Wages was arrested and charged with aggravated assault from the October incident, her subsequent bond on the condition that she have no contact with the victim. Because of that, Wages was charged with aggravated stalking following last week's encounter.
