Nani Cabrales of Archer delivered a no-hitter on Tuesday against Dacula, going seven innings with eight strikeouts as the Tigers posted a 2-0 win in Region 8-AAAAA.
Archer (12-4, 2-0) scored both of its runs in the first inning to give Cabrales all the offensive support she would need. Jenna Graham went 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Elesha Mann drove in the other run and finished 1-for-3. Andria Booth also had a hit and scored for the Tigers.
Collins Hill 2, Duluth 1
SUWANEE -- Collins Hill pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh to nip Duluth 2-1 on Tuesday in Region 7-AAAAA.
Danielle Koletsos delivered the game-winning hit, allowing Danielle Patterson to score. Allie Spell, who finished 2-for-3, provided the Eagles' first run with a solo homer. Aeshia Miles (3-1) earned the win, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts. The Eagles improved to 8-3 overall and 2-2 in the region.
Duluth (5-4, 1-3) tied the game in the top of the sixth with an RBI from Kala Brown. Brown finished 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Reina Sycamore and Cassie Kooker each went 1-for-2.
Peachtree Ridge 5, North 1
SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge picked up a Region 7-AAAAA win Tuesday night with a 5-1 victory over cross-town rival North Gwinnett.
The winning pitcher was Sarah Walker (5-3), who was charged with one unearned run on four hits with four strikeouts. Sam Pierannunzi led offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs. Adding a hit and an RBI for Peachtree Ridge (11-5, 4-1) was Chandler Frisbie, while Noelle Kendig finished 1-for-3. Brandi Mason also had a hit and a run for the Lions.
Alaina Hall took the loss for North, allowing one earned run in five innings on three hits with seven strikeouts. Hall also scored the lone run for North (10-6, 3-2), while Kendall McKinney had two singles.
Mountain View 16, Norcross 11
NORCROSS -- Mountain View and Norcross locked up in a wild one on Tuesday, with the Bears coming away with a 16-11 win in Region 7-AAAAA.
Mountain View jumped in front early with eight runs in the first, only to have Norcross bounce back with seven in the bottom half before answering and pulling away in the later innings.
The Bears pounded out 22 hits on the night, getting five each from Meghan Tonnesen and Sammie Daugherty, including two triples from Tonnesen. Kara Adams finished 3-for-6 with a triple and Lindsey Baxter went 4-for-5. Hannah Seagriff struck out 10 in recording the win.
Norcross (0-5, 0-3) received a 3-for-4 night from Jean Gillentine, who had a triple and two doubles, while Courtney Corban finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Shiloh 4, South 1
SNELLVILLE -- Shiloh opened its Region 8-AAAAA schedule with a 4-1 win over South Gwinnett on Tuesday night.
Jenna Carr struck out eight and gave up just one run on three hits in recording the win. Anna Spivey led the offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Amber Johnson finished 2-for-4. Adding a hit and an RBI each for Shiloh (6-2, 1-0) were Lizzie Humes, Sydney Nelloms and Lauren Egger. Aaliyah Woods and Carr each went 1-for-3.
Berkmar 18, Meadowcreek 2
NORCROSS -- Berkmar upped its record to 4-2 on Tuesday with an 18-2 win over Meadowcreek in four innings.
Queen Briggs, Abriel Brown and Natasha Smith all went 2-for-4 for Berkmar, while Jasmine White allowed two runs with six strikeouts over four innings in securing the win.
Lanier 9, Chestatee 8
GAINESVILLE -- Laneir improved to 4-1 in Region 8-AAA on Tuesday as the Longhorns held on for a 9-8 win over Chestatee.
Hannah Coursey went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Lanier, while Lauren Pettit went 2-for-4 with a triple. Other contributors for the Longhorns (7-11, 4-1) were Meghan Kellett (3-for-4, double), Kaylee Ramos (2-for-4, double) and Keisha Stone (winning pitcher).
Hebron 9, Towns Co. 4
HIAWASSEE -- Hebron stayed atop the standings in Region 8-A at 4-0 with a 9-4 win over Towns County.
Savannah Monahan went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead the offense for Hebron (10-1 overall), while Annie Ranus had two hits and two RBIs. Emily Helton added 2-for-2 game, with Amber Walker chipping in with a 3-for-4 effort. Lyndey McCurry was the winning pitcher.
Providence 8, Galloway 0
LILBURN -- Brittany Tuttle went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and three stolen bases on Tuesday in leading Providence 8-0 over Galloway in six innings in a Region 5-A game.
MacKenzie Tuttle went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Jessie Kowalewicz had a hit, two RBIs and a run for the Stars (5-6, 2-1). Winning pitcher was Bri Canday (5-6, 2-1), giving up six hits with three strikeouts.
Mill Creek logs two wins
DACULA -- Mill Creek improved to 14-6 Tuesday night with a pair of wins, beating Duluth in three games 25-14, 24-26, 25-16 and sweeping Dacula 25-16, 25-14.
Kim Brody and Ashley Isaac each had 18 kills for the Hawks. Audrey Hoffman and Emily Wyle each chipped in with eight kills, while Jordan Rooks led the team in digs with 18.
Collins Hill posts two sweeps
SUGAR HILL -- Katherine Ahlswede recorded 43 assists and four aces on Tuesday in helping Collins Hill to sweeps over Lanier 25-14, 25-7 and Mountain View 25-15, 25-16.
Also helping in the win were Taylor Vold with 13 kills and four aces and Courtney Oster with 11 aces and 10 kills.
Mountain View ended its night at 1-1 as the Bears defeated Lanier in two games 25-21, 25-8.
Parkview earns split, Norcross sweeps
NORCROSS -- Parkview bounced back from a 27-25, 25-23 loss to Norcross to finish its night with a split after topping Grayson in three games 17-25, 25-18, 25-21.
Leaders for Parkview were Riley Weyher (15 digs, 11 kills), Rachel White (10 kills), Victoria Petraffi (29 assists, eight digs, five aces), Daron Blankenship (21 digs) and Ally Teatroff (five kills). Norcross also logged a win against Grayson 25-13, 25-20. Leading the Blue Devils (4-2) were Sydney Marshall with 15 kills, Kolby Meeks with 11 kills and Katie Janowiak with 32 assists.
Lions top Providence, Brookwood wins two
LILBURN -- Peachtree Ridge saw its record move to 13-4 on Tuesday as the Lions beat Providence in three games 23-25, 25-16, 25-17 but lost to Brookwood in three 13-25, 25-22, 23-25.
Lucy Riddle led the Lions with 36 assists, 11 kills, four blocks and three aces, while Eleonara Porazzi added 19 kills and two aces. Other standouts for Peachtree Ridge were Lauren Greene with 12 kills, Becca Meyer with 11 digs and 10 kills and Cathleen Davis with 15 assists.
Brookwood started its perfect night with a 25-20, 25-22 win over the Stars. Leading Brookwood (15-4) were Bethany Easom with 43 assists and six aces. Erin Shelton added 12 blocks, while Sam Gratton and Colleen Thompson each recorded 10 kills.
Providence (10-10) was led by Misty Parker's 28 digs and Maddi Jones' 24 kills and 12 digs. The Stars also received four blocks from Emily Schoone, six kills and 3.5 blocks from Kaitlin Harper and 30 assists from D'Anna Kester.
Meadowcreek tops Central
NORCROSS -- Meadowcreek's Chari Mayes had nine kills and Azjah Fagan had four blocks as the Mustangs beat Central Gwinnett 25-22, 25-20 on Tuesday.
Meadowcreek (2-4) lost its match to Mount Pisgah 25-14, 25-10. Mount Pisgah also beat Central 25-15, 25-22.
Hebron beats Loganville and Habersham
LOGANVILLE -- Hebron defeated a pair of Class AAAA programs on Tuesday with wins over Loganville 25-22, 25-12 and Habersham Central 25-17, 25-23.
Eden Murray tallied 25 kills for Hebron (6-8), while Maddi Roof pounded 13 more. Savannah Blalock paced the offense with 28 assists.
GAC rolls to two wins
DECATUR -- Rachel Waldrop dished out 26 assists on Tuesday to pace Greater Atlanta Christian two wins over Clarkston 25-5, 25-2 and Decatur 25-13, 25-17.
Emma Taylor pounded out 13 kills for GAC (11-3), while Ali Cox delivered seven more. Catherine Chase also helped with 15 digs and seven aces.
