GAINESVILLE — Authorities say a 14-year-old boy has drowned after two boats collided on Lake Lanier.
The body of Trevor Jones, of Buford, was pulled from the lake Sunday afternoon. Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman Melissa Cummings says two boats carrying 15 people collided about 7 p.m. Saturday near Toto Park on Highway 136.
Authorities said 13-year-old Kaitlyn Smith and 57-year-old Jack Struve were also injured. Smith was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta by helicopter, and Struve was hospitalized with a jaw injury.
Cummings said charges may be filed in the incident, which is under investigation.
