LAWRENCEVILLE -- While residents of the Peachtree Corners area decide whether to incorporate a city, residents of other local municipalities will elect new leaders this fall.
A weeklong qualifying period will set the ballots in more than a dozen local cities, four of which will determine their mayor.
Details, including fees, vary by location.
Here is a look at the posts candidates will file paperwork for this week. Incumbents are in parentheses.
Auburn: Mayor (Linda Blechinger) and two council posts (Dorissa Shackelford, Peggy Langley). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Berkeley Lake: Mayor (Lois Salter). Two council seats (Frank Lombardi, Rebecca Spitler). 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Braselton: Council District 1 (Richard Mayberry), Council District 3 (Tony Funari). 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Buford: City Commission (Phillip Beard), two school board seats (Daren Perkins, Leon Johnson). 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Dacula: Two council seats (Susan Robinson, Tim Montgomery). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Duluth: Mayor (Nancy Harris), Council Post 4 (Doug Mundrick), Council Post 5 (Greg Whitlock). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Grayson: Mayor (Jim Hinkle), two council seats (Alison Wilkerson Rooks, Katie Mitchell). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Lawrenceville: Two council seats (P.K. Martin, Katie Hart Smith). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lilburn: Mayor (Diana Preston), Council Post 1 (Johnny Crist), Council Post 2 (Scott Batterton). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Loganville: Three council seats (Dan Curry, Wendell Geiger, Jerry Price). 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Norcross: Mayor (Bucky Johnson). Two council seats (Charlie Rheim, Craig Newton). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Snellville: Mayor (Jerry Oberholtzer). Council Post 1 (Kelly Kautz). Council Post 2 (Tod Warner). Special election for Council Post 4 (Barbara Bender). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Sugar Hill: Three council seats (Marc Cohen, Susie Gajewski, Steve Edwards). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Suwanee: Mayor (Dave Williams). Council Post 1 (Jimmy Burnette). Council Post 2 (Dick Goodman). 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
