Students at Duncan Creek Elementary School in Hoschton evacuated the facility for about an hour Wednesday afternoonon as firefighters responded to smoke in the building.
Gwinnett County Public Schools spokesman Jorge Quintana said the students were “given the all clear” and returning to class at about 1:35 and that he was not aware of any injuries.
Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge confirmed there was smoke in the building and that it had been evacuated as a precaution.
