Homer Youngblood

Dr. Homer C. Youngblood, 91, of Duluth, GA, formerly of Norcross, GA, died August 23, 2011. The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24th, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross. Interment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Dr. Youngblood, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in W.W. II, was a dentist and part-time instructor at the Emory University School of Dentistry. He was a member of Duluth First United Methodist Church, former president of the Norcross Lions Club, former Norcross city council member, former member of Norcross First United Methodist Church, and a former scoutmaster. He was an avid golfer and gardener. Preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Maude S. Youngblood, he is survived by his wife, Marjorie Youngblood; son and daughter-in-law, Gregg C. & Karen Youngblood; daughter, Becky Anne Youngblood; brother, Earl L. Youngblood; sister, Opal Parker; and grandson, Stephen A. Youngblood.
