The Atlanta Falcons waived four players Wednesday morning, including Buford grad Thor Merrow, as they move closer to the final 53-player roster they must have in place by Sept. 3.
Merrow, a rookie out of North Alabama, signed earlier this summer as an undrafted free agent with the Falcons, who his father Jeff played for in the 1970s and 1980s. He was playing fullback for the NFL team.
Atlanta also waived punter Ken Parrish, long snapper Andrew Schulze and tight end A.J. Simmons.
