Cobb County police have narrowed their search for a Porsche that they believe struck and killed a Norcross motorcyclist over the weekend.
Thirty-one-year-old Emanuel R. Mitchell was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Interstate 75 in Marietta when he was struck by a silver vehicle Saturday, ejecting him from the motorcycle and causing him to be struck by another car. Mitchell died at the scene and the driver of the silver vehicle fled the scene, Cobb police spokeswoman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. near the Windy Hill Road exit ramp.
Using evidence recovered at the crime scene and with the assistance of the manufacturer, investigators have now narrowed down the type of Porsche they believe was involved in the crime -- a silver or gray Porsche 944 with a model year between 1986 and 1991.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cobb police at (770) 499-3987.
