Duluth A man found bleeding outside a Duluth apartment complex Tuesday afternoon was possibly shot in self-defense, police said.
Residents at the Landmark at Bella Vista Apartments reported hearing gunshots at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, finding the adult male victim lying outside the complex shortly thereafter, Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said.
The unidentified man had been shot in the face and was taken to a local hospital with “serious” but non-life threatening injuries, Smith said.
Specific details were scarce Tuesday evening, but officials said the shooting may have been in self-defense.
The shooter, who also has not been identified, was located in Suwanee shortly after the incident. He was taken into “investigative custody” and was being “fully cooperative” with investigators Tuesday, Smith said.
Neither party had been arrested or charged with a crime as of Tuesday evening.
Smith was unsure if either man lived at the apartment complex on the 4000 block of Satellite Boulevard.
