NORCROSS -- The Christ Church Episcopal of Norcoss's Christ Church Players presented "Old Time Radio Show" to the public and their parish Saturday evening to raise money for Norcross Cooperative Ministry, Rainbow Village and the Mission in Haiti, which is helping people recovering from the 2010 earthquake.

"We can use this group to bring joy to the community and introduce ourselves to the public, but to also raise money for those organizations that are dear to us," said Jennifer Jordan, director of the Christ Church Players.

The performances were all generally set in the 1940s America with a variety of skits, songs and dances -- just like when families would crowd around a radio to hear entertainment.

"The whole idea that 'Main Street America' is lost leaves people craving it," Jordan said. "The general tone of the play is a very positive theme."

Performers depicted Will Rogers, the Andrews Sisters, Betty Boop, Minnie Pearl and many more.

The Christ Church Players perform throughout the year to collect funds for local charities.

"Our vision is in part be a fundraising organizations," Jordan said.
