Asa S. Edge, 93, of Dacula passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2011 following a brief illness. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired from Lockheed Georgia. Mr. Edge was a voracious reader, including being a Bible scholar. He played several sports in high school in Cedartown, Ga. and was for the rest of his life an avid sports fan. He also enjoyed harvesting and sharing vegetables from his garden. He was married to and predeceased by two wives, his first, Ruth Rhinehardt, for 34 years and also, Claire Ruth Carter for 34 years. He is survived by a son, Charles Edge and his wife, Pat and a daughter, Annette Rice and her husband, David Rice. He had six grandchildren, Brandt Edge, Shellie Huth, Lea Ann Rice, William Rice, Steve Rice and CaNeil Qualtiere. He also had ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He had a brother, Charles Edge from Floral City, Fl. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2011 at Castellaw Funeral Home, Smyrna with military honors. The family will greet friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
