LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett County police and fire departments have announced the date for their public safety fall festival.

The event, which will feature a number of demonstrations and a police-against-firefighter softball game, will be held Oct. 1 at Coolray Field. Taking place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., admission is free, but attendees are asked to bring canned goods to support Gwinnett food banks.

In addition to a blood drive, events will include a SWAT team, helicopter, motors and apparatus displays. A scavenger hunt, car show, pet adoptions, rock wall and moon walks will also keep visitors occupied.

Coolray Field is located at 2500 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville.
