SNELLVILLE — Bobby Howard announced his bid Monday for Snellville’s City Council.

Howard said he plans to seek the Post 4 seat Barbara Bender will vacate for her race for mayor this fall.

“I have lived in Snellville with my family for 16 great years, and during that time we have experienced the ebb and flow of Snellville’s landscape, government and population. I think that most of us agree that Snellville has changed,” he said. “With some very positive changes over the past 18 months, now is the time for united and committed leadership, to guide Snellville to an even greater future.”

Economic development is a top priority for the owner of a home repair business.

“New and expanding businesses create employment opportunities, generate tax revenue, and in some cases redevelop unsightly buildings and commercial areas into vibrant, revitalized areas of our community,” he said.

The former chairman of Cannon United Methodist Church is a long-time supporter of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Association and Care-for-Cops and said public safety is also a top priority.
