Officials said no students were injured Wednesday afternoon when a school bus carrying five special needs students was involved in a crash with another vehicle in Lilburn.
The driver of an SUV was transported with "non-life threatening" injuries to a local hospital following the wreck, which occurred at River Drive and Oak Road, according to Cpl. Jake Smith with the Gwinnett County Police Department.
A spokesperson with the school system said that including students there were a total of seven passengers on the bus including two adults: a bus manager and bus monitor.
The students aboard the bus attend Gwin Oaks Elementary, said Jorge Quintana, spokesman for Gwinnett County Schools.
The wreck occurred at 2:48 p.m. Wednesday.
