LOGANVILLE -- Work is complete early on a road improved as part of the Ga. Highway 20 widening construction in Loganville.

Oak Grove Road reopened Tuesday after crews completed a new alignment four days early.

The road, which had previously met with Ga. 20 at a 45-degree angle, was realigned to a 90-degree angle. The grade was also raised five feet to meet with the new lanes of Ga. 20, a press release said.

Crews from Gary's Grading and Pipeline are set to complete the Ga. 20 project by the end of the year. Funded by the federal stimulus program, the $10.9 million project widens the road to a four-lane divided highway along a 2.7-mile corridor from Grayson to Loganville.
