SCRANTON, Pa. — Yohan Flande tosses six four-hit innings, throwing a season-high 109 pitches but even in a double-header shortened seven-inning game couldn’t get the win.
Flande left the game in a 3-3 tie, but a wild pitch by reliever Jaye Chapman in the eighth allowed the winning run to score in the seven-inning scheduled game. Tyler Pastornicky, a day after his 12-game hitting streak ended, singled in the first and Matt Young and Jeff Fiorentino each added a pair of hits. Flande walked just two batters and struck out a pair in his no-decision. After allowing three runs in the first three innings, the righty silenced the Yankees over his final three. Game two of the scheduled double-header was not complete by press time.More like this story
