Gwinnett Daily Post
Six Gwinnett County high school football games will be featured on broadcasts, either on TV or on the web, this season by Georgia Public Broadcasting.
GPB announced plans this week to show football games each week from Aug. 26 through the Dec. 9-10 state championship games, which have been broadcast by the public TV station for years. But those title games in the Georgia Dome will be joined by many more games this season.
The TV broadcasts will be 8 p.m. kickoffs and the opening night on Aug. 26 will feature the Collins Hill game at Roswell. Longtime Brookwood coach and athletic director Dave Hunter, who has retired, will serve as the color analyst with Gil Tyree handling play-by-play.
The Sept. 9 game between Peachtree Ridge and Newnan also will be on GPB, as will the Sept. 23 Mill Creek-Norcross game and the Oct. 28 Brookwood-Grayson game.
GPB's webcasts will feature two local games -- Wesleyan-Holy Innocents' on Sept. 16 and Buford-Lovett on Sept. 23.
The complete schedule is available at www.gpb.org/sports.
