FORT MILL, S.C. -- Rain made it a much later night than planned for the Gwinnett Braves in their final game in Charlotte on Friday night.
A scheduled 7 p.m. start didn't end up that way as rain soaked the Knights' Castle for more than two and a half hours. The game began at 10 p.m. with the G-Braves taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
The contest was not completed by press time, but the delayed start meant a late return to Lawrenceville for both the G-Braves and the Knights, who finish their four-game series with two games at Coolray Field.
Tonight's 7 p.m. matchup will be the first Class AAA appearance for Braves' pitching prospect Randall Delgado. The right-hander was 5-5 in 21 starts with Class AA Mississippi and also made one spot start in the big leagues, pitching four innings against the Texas Rangers.
