WINDER -- Winder Police Chief Dennis Dorsey received approval from city council members Tuesday to move ahead with the purchase of two new department vehicles.
The SUVs will allow officers more room to move and work inside the vehicles, cutting down on wear and tear of interior equipment, such as computers and seats.
City Hall project approved
Council members also voted Tuesday to solicit bids to complete work on Jackson Street at City Hall. The project, expected to cost nearly $60,000, will include installing curb, gutter and landscaping where the drive-through area was removed recently.
September meeting date changed
The September work session and city council meting dates have been changed to Sept. 12 and 13, respectively. The change was made because of the Labor Day holiday next month.
