ATLANTA -- Atlanta Dream forward Angel McCoughtry was named the WNBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Month for July.
McCoughtry, Atlanta's leading scorer on the season, helped guide the Dream to a 5-3 record in July. She closed the month on a tear, earning consecutive Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors after scoring at least 30 points in three of her last five outings. In eight games overall, the University of Louisville product led the league in scoring (25.1 ppg) and ranked second in steals (2.7 spg), behind only the Chicago Sky's Epiphanny Prince (2.8 spg).
Seimone Augustus of the Minnesota Lynx was named the Western Conference Player of the Month.
