Lakeysha Rembert and Christopher McKnight
James and Debbie Rembert of Sumter, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lakeysha Rembert of Duluth, to Christopher Evan McKnight of Duluth, son of Evelyn Dix McKnight of Duluth and William McKnight Jr. of Virginia.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lida Glover Rembert of Sumter, S.C., the late Deacon Harmon Rembert, the late Robert Carter Sr. and the late Dora Mae Brunson Carter. She is a graduate of Sumter High School, Columbia College in Columbia, S.C., and Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, where she received a master’s degree in special education. She is employed with Gwinnett County Public Schools as a special education teacher.
The future groom is the grandson of Ruby Dix of Sumter, S.C., the late E.W. Dix Sr., and the late William McKnight Sr. He is a graduate of Sumter High School and attended Devry University. He is employed with FedEx as a service manager.
The wedding is planned for July 2 at Grant Hill Baptist Church in Rembert, S.C.
