Gwinnett Daily Post
NORFOLK, Va. — Diory Hernandez and Wilkin Ramirez each homered as the Gwinnett Braves kept pounding out runs on their trip through Norfolk.
The pair combined for five RBIs as the G-Braves overcame a first-inning error for an 8-4 win. Starting pitcher Julio Teheran won his first game in Class AAA, pitching 61⁄3 innings and allowing just one earned run. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter. His ERA after three starts is 1.69. Jose Constanza joined Hernandez and Ramirez with multiple hits, going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. In relief, Scott Proctor allowed a run in 12⁄3 innings, giving up a two-run home run to Josh Bell. Teheran was responsible for one of the runs. Stephen Marek kept his ERA unblemished, not allowing a run off one hit and a strike out in the ninth. RHP Todd Redmond goes for his first win today for Gwinnett against the Tides’ Steve Johnson.More like this story
