PREP ROUNDUP: Tignor's complete game leads Grayson

LOGANVILLE -- Grayson's Blake Tignor delivered a complete game with six strikeouts on Friday as the Rams handed Parkview's baseball team its first Region 8-AAAAA loss, 4-1.

Brandon Benson led the offense for the Rams (13-8, 6-5), going 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Taylor Allum and Chris Erwin each went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Jesse Foster started for Parkview but went just 1/3 inning before leaving with an injury. Phillip Taylor followed and went 42/3 innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Jack Esmonde also threw an inning, allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout.

Josh Hart went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run for Parkview (14-6, 9-1), while Edwin Arias was 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly RBI. Matt Olson, Zack Reinstein and Travis Naraine each went 1-for-3.

BASEBALL

  • Mill Creek 6, Collins Hill 3

SUWANEE -- Mill Creek scored three runs in the top of the eighth to come away with a 6-3 win over Collins Hill in Region 7-AAAAA Friday night.

Aryan Rodriguez singled to put the Hawks (14-6, 9-4) up 4-3 in the eighth, while Casey Parham followed with a two-run hit on a squeeze. Devin Bonin went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs, while Connor Kasten was 2-for-3 with a double, run and stolen base.

Brian Stillwell (5-2) went seven innings in getting the win, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Tim Hernandez pitched a scoreless eighth for the save.

Collins Hill was led on offense by A.J. Farris, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Morgan Ownbey started and went 71/3 innings, giving up six hits with four walks and three strikeouts.

  • Dacula 9, Archer 2

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Tripp Calhoun went 3-for-4 with two RBIs on Friday in helping Dacula to a 9-2 win over Archer in Region 8-AAAAA.

Chase Loyd and Blake Zierten each went 2-for-3 for Dacula (10-10, 6-5), while Steven Williams was 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBIs.

Tyler Jarvis (4-3) was the winning pitcher, giving up one earned run on three hits in four innings with four strikeouts.

  • Shiloh 11, Berkmar 10

SNELLVILLE -- Berkmar had the tying run on second base with one out in the top of the seventh against Shiloh on Friday when lightning caused the game to be called, giving Shiloh an 11-10 win over the Patriots.

Tre Williams and Jacob Glass each went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Berkmar (4-16, 1-10), while Shane Pitts had two hits and an RBI.

  • North 13, Peachtree Ridge 0

SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett's offense produced 12 hits on Friday to propel the Bulldogs 13-0 over Peachtree Ridge in six innings for a Region 7-AAAAA win.

North scored seven runs in the third inning, sparked by a two-run homer from Adrian Stewart and RBI singles from Zach Nolan and Brian Woodruff.

In the fifth, North (11-10, 6-7) pulled away with seven more runs, getting a two-run single from Connor Jenkins and a three-run homer from Cole Willoughby.

Kenny Knudsen also went 2-for-3 with a double, while Brandon White pitched five innings for the win, allowing three hits with four strikeouts.

  • Duluth 3, Mountain View 2

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Jacob Timmie delivered a two-run single in the top of the sixth to help lift Duluth 3-2 over Mountain View on Friday in Region 7-AAAAA.

Alex Raffensberger went 2-for-3 with a solo homer for Duluth (14-7, 8-5), while David Matton added two hits.

Chris Rich (5-2) pitched six innings in getting the win, allowing one earned run with six strikeouts. John Clark followed with a scoreless seventh for his third save.

Peyton Fore had three hits for Mountain View (9-12, 3-10), while Alex Brock had two hits with a double and two runs. Tyler Bethune and Brandon Griffin each had a hit, while Joey Bell was charged with the loss, going seven innings with three runs on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

  • Brookwood 4, Loganville 4

LOGANVILLE -- Brookwood and Loganville had their game called due to weather, ending the contest tied 4-4 on Friday night.

Allen Tokarz started and went four innings for Brookwood, allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts.

Trey Martin and Tremayne Toorie each went 2-for-3, while Clint Carr was 1-for-1.

  • Monroe Area 17, Lanier 4

SUGAR HILL -- Monroe Area defeated Lanier 17-4 in five innings Friday night in a Region 8-AAA game.

Walter Gropp went 2-for-2 with a double and a two-run homer for Lanier (2-18, 2-17). Stephen Rusch finished 1-for-2 with a run, while Michael Diaz went 1-for-2.

  • GAC 15, Clarkston 0

NORCROSS -- Greater Atlanta Christian needed just three innings on Friday night to post a 15-0 win over Clarkston in Region 6-AA.

Winning pitcher for GAC (13-7, 6-4) was Chase Markham.

  • Hebron 17, Talluluah Falls 0

TALLULAH FALLS -- Christian Davila went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs on Friday as Hebron pounded Tallulah Falls 17-0 in four innings in Region 8-A.

Danny Lockhart went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Jordan Hillyer finished 2-for-3 with a double. Royce Baptist pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts for the win. Hebron improved to 20-1 overall and 15-0 in the region.

  • Killian Hill 8, People's Baptist 3

MCDONOUGH -- Sebastian Thomas delivered a 2-for-3 night with a two-run triple on Friday as Killian Hill topped People's Baptist 8-3.

Clay Watson and Alex Attebery each went 2-for-4 as Killian Hill improved to 11-1.

BOYS SOCCER

  • Hebron 9, Towns Co. 0

DACULA -- Hebron received goals from six different players on Friday as the Lions blanked Towns County 9-0 in Region 8-A.

Austin Pinto, Cole Redman and Ryan Notheis each had two goals for Hebron (12-3-2, 6-1), while Josh Manga, Kevin Glisson and Brian Oduro each had one. Chris Austin and Andrew Thompson each helped with two assists.

  • Paideia 4, Wesleyan 1

ATLANTA -- Paideia scored four goals in the second half to pull away from Wesleyan for a 4-1 win in Region 4-A Friday night.

Wesleyan (9-8, 7-4) took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Cort Coxhead scored on a penalty kick.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Peachtree Ridge 2, Mountain View 0

SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge shut out Mountain View 2-0 on Friday night in a Region 7-AAAAA game.

Shelby Jennings scored off an assist for Emily Edmonds for Peachtree Ridge (10-8, 5-2), while Baillie Burmaster added an unassisted goal.

  • Hebron 7, Towns Co. 0

DACULA -- Alexa Allen had a hat trick Friday night as Hebron blanked Towns County 7-0.

Christina McGill also added a goal for Hebron (13-2-1, 7-0).

  • Paideia 1, Wesleyan 0

ATLANTA -- Paideia scored off a deflection in the second half to come away with a 1-0 win over Wesleyan on Friday night.

Wesleyan fell to 9-6-1 overall and 8-4 in Region 4-A.

  • Killian Hill 4, Cherokee 2

WOODSTOCK -- Killian Hill improved to 11-1 on Friday night as the Cougars topped Cherokee Christian 4-2.

Wesley Tylie led Killian Hill with two goals, while Paige Williams and Ky Hayes each had a goal and an assist.

BOYS LACROSSE

  • GAC 10, Collins Hill 6

SUGAR HILL -- Greater Atlanta Christian improved to 8-6 on Friday with a 10-6 win over Collins Hill in the Gwinnett County tournament at Pirkle Park.

Scotty Smith, Jake Neill, Peter Whiteneck and Gunner Cape each scored two goals for GAC, while Whit Anderson helped with two assists and a goal.

GIRLS LACROSSE

  • Brookwood 7, Norcross 4

SNELLVILLE -- Courtney Ross scored three goals Friday night to lead Brookwood 7-4 over Norcross.

Adding one goal each for Brookwood (3-12) were Paige Miller, Taylor Stercay, Lauren Clay and Kat Tak. Jasmine Thomas had a strong game at keeper with six saves.

BOYS GOLF

  • Price's even par leads Lions

COMMERCE -- Casey Price of Hebron shot an even-par 36 Friday afternoon at Double Oaks as the Lions (7-6) defeated Athens Christian 172 to 203.
