PREP ROUNDUP: Hawks remain unbeaten

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Alex Giles scored a pair of goals and the Mill Creek girls soccer team blanked Carolina Forest 5-0 on Thursday in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The undefeated Hawks (11-0) also got goals from Cari Towell, Tatum O’Keefe and Amanda Troy. Nicole Ruggieri added three assists and Tessa Lukens got the shutout in goal.


Providence 4, Mt. Pisgah 1

ALPHARETTA — Alan Skinner earned the win, allowing just one run on four hits and struck out six in four innings as Providence beat Mt. Pisgah 4-1 on Thursday.

Skinner also added a solo home run in the second to give the Stars (10-6, 7-0) an early lead.

Glen Williamson picked up the save with three innings of no-hit relief. He struck out five.

Austin Smith (two runs) and Nick Stidham (double, run, RBI) were both 3-for-4.

Wesleyan 15, Fellowship 0

NORCROSS — Will Anderson improved to 4-0 and Wesleyan run-ruled Fellowship 15-0 in four innings Thursday.

Anderson also had two hits, including a home run. Joseph Sheffield hit a homer, too.

Gardner Hedner and Drew Widner each had a pair of hits for the Wolves (10-5, 5-1).

Norcross 6, North Gwinnett 3

SUWANEE — Chris Raasch led Norcross to a 6-3 win over North Gwinnett, allowing just three runs in seven innings of work Wednesday.

Norcross (9-8, 5-4) was coming off a 7-2 win Tuesday over South Gwinnett. Neil Reisenberger was 2-for-3 while Sam Mireless gave up two runs in four innings. Will Paschal got the win.
