Florida State fans and other local followers of college football will get a chance to mingle tonight with one of the sport’s coaching legends, Bobby Bowden.
The longtime Seminoles coach will sign copies of his latest book, “Called to Coach,” today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Borders location in Buford at 1705 Mall of Georgia Blvd. The book’s author is Norcross graduate Mark Schlabach, a national college football columnist and TV contributor for ESPN.
Bowden led Florida State’s football program to two national championships and 12 ACC titles during his long tenure at the school from 1976 to 2009. He finished his career with 377 wins to just 129 losses.
His latest book covers many details of his long career, including his controversial exit from Florida State following the 2009 season, as well as how his Christian faith affected his life as a football coach.
