Norcross’ Maloof gets TD Club honor
Norcross head coach Keith Maloof was named the Touchdown Club of Atlanta coach of the week on Tuesday. He will be honored next week at the club’s weekly meeting.
The club honored Wesleyan’s David Andrews last week as its lineman of the week.
Dacula to host football alumni night Oct. 8
Dacula High School will hold its football alumni night on Friday, Oct. 8 when the Falcons host Grayson. The festivities will include a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. honoring all football players, band members and cheerleaders from the 1960s and 1970s.
The event is open to all Dacula alumni. Contact Dee Pickett at Dee_Pickett@gwinnett.k12.ga.us to reserve a spot.
Barons’ home-school basketball tryouts on Saturday
The Greater Gwinnett Christian Barons will host tryouts for boys and girls home-schooled students this Saturday at the team’s home gymnasium, Give West, at 2595 Beaver Ruin Road.
The program offers area home-schooled students the opportunity to play in an organized league against other home-schooled athletes. GGC features varsity, junior varsity and middle school teams for both boys and girls, as well as recreation teams for 9- to 12-year-old boys.
Saturday’s tryouts begin at 10 a.m. for girls ages 10 to 18 (age as of Sept. 1). The boys tryouts for ages 9 to 18 begin at 11:30 a.m.
