SUWANEE -- A Suwanee business owner went to jail Thursday after police said they seized more than $100,000 worth of counterfeit high-end jewelry from her shop.
After a tip that Buy N Joy, located in the Assi Plaza shopping center at 1291 Old Peachtree Road, was selling knockoff jewelry, undercover investigators swooped in Thursday, Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Brian Kelly said.
The plainclothes members of the special investigations unit were reportedly sold counterfeit Chanel and Louie Vuitton earrings.
"Investigators collected multiple pieces of counterfeit Chanel, Louie Vuitton and Christian Dior jewelry totaling $104,250," Kelly said.
The earrings sold to the police officers prominently displayed false logos, Kelly said.
The store owner, identified as Soon Ja Lee of Alpharetta, was arrested and charged with counterfeitting trademarks. She was later released on $5,700 bond.
