PREP ROUNDUP: Block has winning hit for Panthers

LILBURN — Katie Block’s base hit drove in Mia Marshall for the winning run in Parkview’s 4-3 victory over Hebron on Wednesday.

Marshall, Sara Coker and Morgan Robinson were each 1-for-3. Marshall had a double and Robinson an RBI.

Caitlin McClure was the winning pitcher for the Panthers (15-6), going seven innings and striking out eight and giving up two earned runs.

SOFTBALL

Dacula 5, Winder-Barrow 1

WINDER — Jenny Willis went 3-for-4 at the plate and was the winning pitcher in Dacula’s 5-1 victory over Winder-Barrow on Wednesday.

Willis allowed four hits and struckout three for the Falcons (8-15).

Katie McMillian was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. April Ledbetter was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.

Mitchell, Wesleyan pick up wins in tourney

ALPHARETTA — Brittany Mitchell was the winning pitcher in Wesleyan’s 11-6 win over Roswell and 6-4 victory over Centennial on Wednesday in the Milton Tournament.

Dacia Jones (3-for-4, four RBIs) and CaraMia Tsirigos (3-for-4, five RBIs) hit home runs on consecutive pitches in the win over Roswell. Landyn Duley was 3-for-4 with three runs.

Caitlin Crabill (2-for-4) had the game-winning double in the victory over Centennial and Mitchell was 2-for-3 at the plate.
