BUFORD — Buford’s Cara Cole delivered a two-out double in the bottom of the seventh to plate Chelsie Thomas on Tuesday night to give the Wolves a 3-2 win over Greater Atlanta Christian.
Thomas finished 2-for-3 with two runs, while Carly Fullem went 2-for-3 with a double. Buford (19-4, 4-0) also received a home run from Lexi Overstreet.
The winning pitcher was Melissa Dickie, who struck out three with one walk and two hits in improving her record to 9-3.
Mill Creek 8, Norcross 1
NORCROSS — Erin Raeford and Chandler Griffin of Mill Creek each had two hits and three RBIs on Tuesday as the Hawks topped Norcross 8-1 in Region 7-AAAAA.
Brittany Bass also went 2-for-3, while Lauren Kaczynski was the winning pitcher, striking out three with one unearned run off four hits in seven innings.
Peachtree Ridge 7, Duluth 4
SUWANEE — Peachtree Ridge’s Gracie Shelton went 4-for-4 with four RBIs on Tuesday as the Lions picked up a Region 7-AAAAA win over Duluth 7-4.
Sarah Walker struck out seven in seven innings with three hits for the win, while adding two hits and an RBI on offense. Sammi Shaffren also went 2-for-4 for Peachtree Ridge (14-10, 6-4).
Duluth (11-12, 3-5) was led by a 3-for-3 night from Jeanie Perrucci and a 1-for-3 game from Sam Metzler.
Archer 10, South 0
SNELLVILLE — Archer’s Madison Wyngaert (4-0) allowed one hit in four innings with four strikeouts Tuesday in helping the Tigers shut out South Gwinnett 3-0 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Lynsey Folkerts led the offense, going 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and three runs. Alliyah Williams added two hits with two runs and two RBIs, while Alesha Mann had tripled, walked three times and scored twice. Archer improved to 17-6-1 overall and 5-1 in the region.
Brookwood 3, Grayson 2
SNELLVILLE — Jenny Blackwell of Brookwood went 2-for-4 with two runs Tuesday as the Broncos edged Grayson 3-2 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Mandy Blackwell also had two hits for Brookwood (21-5), while Megan Litumbe had an RBI. Taylor Stercay had a hit and scored a run, while Ambree Muller, Susan Norris and Daniella Ulloa each had a hit. The winning pitcher was Rachel Hill.
Central 4, Dacula 2
LAWRENCEVILLE — Central Gwinnett’s Kaitlin Hussey pitched a complete game Tuesday, allowing two runs with three strikeouts as the Black Knights held off Dacula 4-2 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Alyssa Munck went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Central (7-16) on offense, while Hussey finished 2-for-3. Ashlyn Arp also had a hit and an RBI for the Black Knights.
Providence 17, King’s Ridge 0
ALPHARETTA — Lauren Eggert had three hits with four RBIs and two runs Tuesday as Providence blasted King’s Ridge 17-0 in four innings for a Region 5-A win.
Jessie Kowalewicz went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run, while MacKenzie Tuttle added two hits with two RBIs and two runs. Brittany Tuttle went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Kylie Kleinschmidt had two hits and an RBI for the Stars (14-6-2, 6-1).
Kleinschmidt (10-5) was also the winning pitcher, allowing two hits with 10 strikeouts.
Wesleyan 8, Fellowship 0
ROSWELL — Victoria DiStasi of Wesleyan went 2-for-3 with three RBIs on Tuesday to lead the Wolves 8-0 over Fellowship Christian in Region 5-A.
Brittany Mitchell was the winning pitcher, going five innings with three hits and three strikeouts in the shutout. She also went 2-for-3 with an RBI at the plate. Wesleyan improved to 9-5 overall and 6-1 in the region.
Hebron 8, Commerce 0
DACULA — Hebron starter Kaylin Brooks allowed one hit in four innings with five strikeouts Tuesday as the Lions shut out Commerce 8-0 in Region 8-A.
Kara Adams sparked the offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, while Heather Felt went 3-for-3 with an RBI. The win boosted Hebron to 8-8 overall and 6-3 in the region.
Hebron knocks off Parkview and Dacula
LILBURN — Hebron improved to 27-4 on Tuesday with wins over a pair of Class AAAAA opponents, beating Parkview in three games 25-20, 21-25, 25-14 and sweeping Dacula 26-24, 25-20.
Elise Murray had 16 kills and seven blocks for Hebron, while Maddi Roof added 15 kills. Mollie Russell also had 14 kills. The leader is assists was Savannah Blalock with 18, while Eden Murray finished with 15.
Archer sweeps Mountain View and Central
LAWRENCEVILLE — Archer improved to 10-17 on Tuesday with sweeps over Mountain View 25-20, 25-18 and Central Gwinnett 25-22, 25-19.
Leaders for the Tigers were Jessica Stamey with seven aces and five kills, Taylor Emmons with three kills and three aces, Keisha Shiver with five kills and two aces and Emily Little with seven digs.
Central (5-14) also fell in its second match, losing to Mountain View in two games 25-14, 25-20.
Mill Creek splits, Peachtree Ridge sweeps
SUWANEE — Mill Creek ended Tuesday night with a split, topping Meadowcreek 25-14, 25-16 but falling to host Peachtree Ridge in two games 25-18, 25-16. The Hawks’ record moved to 15-13 overall and 2-2 in Area 7-AAAAA.
Peachtree Ridge (18-14) completed its perfect 2-0 night with a 25-11, 25-14 sweep over Duluth.
Leading the Lions was Lucy Riddle with 12 kills and four blocks and DeLaina Sarden with nine blocks and six kills. Becca Meyer finished with seven kills, while Kathleen Davis paced the offense with 17 assists.
Collins Hill wins one of two, North sweeps
NORCROSS — Collins Hill got off to a good start Tuesday night with a 25-23, 25-23 sweep of Norcross but its bid for a sweep came up short with a 25-21, 25-14 loss to North Gwinnett.
Leaders for the Eagles (21-7, 3-1) were Katherine Ahlswede with 34 assists, five digs and two aces, Erin Ensley with nine digs and seven kills, Kelly Carelson with five kills and four digs, Sarah Stone with 18 digs and four aces and Caitlin Conner with five kills.
North completed its sweep by beating Norcross 25-22, 25-11. Leaders for North (32-2, 4-0) were Kristina Stinson with 13 aces and nine kills, Kelsea Knudsen with 16 kills and eight digs and Annie Wheeler with 12 kills.
Norcross (10-8, 2-2) was led by Lauren Ranney with 21 assists and Kamilah Bakari with nine kills and 41⁄2 blocks.
Brookwood tops Grayson and Berkmar
LILBURN — Brookwood improved to 19-13 overall and 3-1 in Area 8-AAAAA on Tuesday with wins over Berkmar 25-13, 25-7 and Grayson 27-25, 20-25, 25-19.
Leading the Broncos was Bethany Easom, who had 16 assists, seven aces and two kills. Katie Mallow added eight kills with seven aces, while Erin Shelton finished with 11 digs and eight kills.
Grayson earned a split on the night by topping Berkmar in two games 25-11, 25-17. Hannah Barney led the team in blocks, while Kristi Cheesman led the Rams in kills. Dallas Hasty also played well with five aces in the Brookwood match.
Wesleyan logs two wins
ROSWELL — Wesleyan stayed unbeaten in Area 7-AA/A at 6-0 on Tuesday with wins over Fellowship Christian 25-9, 25-13 and Holy Innocents’ 25-21, 25-12 at Fellowship Christian.
Leading Wesleyan (19-13 overall) was Grace Leah Baughn with 20 kills and four digs, while Alana Broe added 10 kills. Maggie Smith paced the offense with 37 assists and seven digs, while Callie Bivings finished with seven kills and three assists.
GAC tops Providence
NORCROSS — Rachel Waldrop recorded 21 assists Tuesday to guide Greater Atlanta Christian to a 25-16, 25-10 win over Providence.
Catherine Chason led GAC (16-10, 4-2) on defense with 13 digs, while Morgan McKnight led the Spartans in kills with eight.
