Harold Leon Humphries, 88, of Suwanee, GA, died September 18, 2010. The funeral was held Monday, September 20th, at 1:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross. Burial followed at Winters Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Humphries was a member of Winters Chapel United Methodist Church and a Charter Member of the Gwinnett Rotary Club. He was a Navy Veteran and served on the USS Hornet and the owner and president of Humphries Concrete Block and Ready Mix from 1946 to the present. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Myrtice Scoggins Humphries and daughter, Deborah Humphries. He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Linda Humphries, Russell and Terri Humphries, Donald and Lisa Humphries, all of Suwanee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Dolly and Mike Crawley of Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Betty Lancaster of Dunwoody, GA; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Winters Chapel United Methodist Church, 5051 Winters Chapel Rd., Doraville, GA 30360 or Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Ln., Duluth, GA 30096.
