LILBURN -- Buford was undefeated for the day as the Wolves shut out Eastside 7-0 and Luella 9-0, and beat Parkview 9-1 in five innings to win the Gold Division at the Brookwood tournament Saturday.
Karly Fullem earned the win against Eastside after she pitched 51/3 innings, and gave up three hits, four walks and struck out four. Melissa Dickie got the save after she threw 12/3 innings, struck out three batters, gave up a walk and did not allow a hit.
Offensively, Melissa Dickie went 3-for-2 with a double, RBI and a run, while Lexi Overstreet went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and a run. Madyson Wynegar was 2-for-3 with a double and a run and Aly Hicks added a run for the Wolves.
Against Luella, Dickie (8-3) threw a complete game, struck out nine batters and gave up four hits and two walks to earn her third shutout. Kodi Ricketson went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, four RBIs and two runs scored, while Kalli Case helped with a triple, RBI and three runs. Karly Fullem finished 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs, Lexi Overstreet scored two RBIs, while Aly Hicks also added an RBI for Buford.
Fullem (8-1) pitched a complete game, struck out three batters, gave up three walks, four hits and no earned runs against Parkview.
Kodi Ricketson went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, Chelsie Thomas was 2-for-2 with three runs, Kalli Case was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and Fullem went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run for the Wolves (18-4, 3-0).
Peachtree Ridge wins Bronze Division
SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge swept on Saturday with victories over Warner Robins (8-0), South Forsyth (8-3) and Flowery Branch (8-0) to win the Bronze Division at the Brookwood tournament Saturday.
Sarah Walker registered the win against Warner Robins after she struck out five batters, did not allow a run and gave up three hits in five innings for the Lions. At the plate for Peachtree Ridge, Ashley Sawdey was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Gracie Shelton went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and Kayla Jones went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Against South Forsyth, Sarah Walker threw a complete game and struck out three batters and allowed two earned runs. Offensively, Sam Pierannunzi had two runs and stole a base, and Kaitlyn Vincent had two RBIs, while Andie McGregor went 2-for-3 and Chandler Frisbie finished 2-for-4 for the Lions.
Quinn Hill shut out Flowery Branch for the Lions. Hill did not allow a run and struck out three batters in six innings for Peachtree Ridge. Sam Pierannunzi went 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and four runs, Kaitlyn Vincent was 1-for-2 with an RBI, Chandler Frisbie was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Sarah Walker and Sammi Shaffren each scored an RBI for Peachtree Ridge (13-10).
Collins Hill wins two of three
SUWANEE -- Collins Hill fell to Oconee County 1-0 but beat Northgate 7-2 and Allatoona 5-1 at the Brookwood tournament Saturday.
Kayla Floor (10-2) suffered the loss against Oconee County only allowing one hit, one earned run, and striking out seven in seven innings.
Against Northgate, Ally LeGette (8-0) earned the win. LeGette gave up nine hits and two earned runs in seven innings.
Aerika Miles was 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and an in the park home run, and Floor also hit a home run, while Mckenzie Halstead went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Collins Hill.
In the final game, Floor (11-2) threw a complete game, allowed one run, four hits and struck out five batters. Miles went 2-for-4 with a double, Calli Star went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and a run, while Ariele Patterson added two runs for Collins Hill (19-2-1).
Mill Creek goes 2-for-3
HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek beat Loganville 11-2 and East Coweta 8-0 in five innings, but fell to Jones County 6-5 in the Brookwood tournament Saturday.
Against Loganville, Tori Mitchell (4-1) registered the win for Mill Creek giving up seven hits and two earned runs for the Hawks.
Offensively, Jenna Holland was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, Nikki Sagermann was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs, Anyssa Robles was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Shannon Quinn was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Jackee West was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Mill Creek.
Lauren Kaczynski (7-2) shut out East Coweta, and gave up four hits, did not allow a run and struck out four batters in five innings for the Hawks. Lauren Bennett went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, while Sagermann went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a two run home run.
Mill Creek fell to Jones County, with Caroline Wilson collecting the loss on the mound after allowing 12 hits, five unearned runs and one earned run in seven innings.
At the plate for the Hawks (17-5), Chandler Griffin went 1-for-4 with a two run home run, Nikki Sage went 2-for-4 with a double and Brittany Bass went 2-for-4.
Archer beats Norcross, Woodward
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Archer took a 7-2 victory over Norcross and beat Woodward Academy 9-7 in eight innings at the Brookwood tournament Saturday.
Alesha Mann (2-5) gave up two runs, a hit and struck out three batters in four innings to earn the win for Archer against Norcross. Kristen Hawkins and Alliyah Williams each went 2-for-4 with a run, while Taylor Ockunzzi went 2-for-3 with a run, and Jenna Graham was 2-for-2 for Archer.
Against Woodward Academy, Madison Wyngaert (3-0) gave up seven runs, 11 hits, and struck out eight batters in eight innings to earn the win. Taylor Albritton went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, Jenna Graham was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs, Alliyah Williams was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Kristen Craig finished 2-for-4 with an RBI for Archer (16-6-1).
North beats Grayson, Terry
SUWANEE -- Alaina Hall earned the win on the mound to help North Gwinnett defeat Grayson 8-7 and Terry 10-2 at the Brookwood tournament Saturday.
Against Grayson, Hall (3-0) threw 51/3 innings, did not allow a run, gave up four hits and struck out 10 batters for North. At the plate, Hall helped with a triple, while Alex McDavid went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Heather Maddox went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Miranda Strother went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for North.
Hall gave up five hits in three innings against Terry, and Alex McDavid pitched two innings and did not allow a run to earn the save for North.
McDavid went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Mallory Koepke and Mandy Spangler each went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Maddox had a double and three RBIs, while Tori Freedman and Strother each went 2-for-3 for North (17-4-1).
Wesleyan 10, ELCA 2
NORCROSS -- Wesleyan defeated Eagles Landing Christian Academy 10-2 on Saturday.
Brittany Mitchell struck out four batters and gave up seven hits in five innings to earn the win for the Wolves (8-5). Katie Frerking went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs and Dacia Jones went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBIs for Wesleyan.
Collins Hill wins 6 of 7
SUWANEE -- Collins Hill beat Norcross, Forsyth Central, Tucker, North Forsyth, North Hall and Norcross, but fell to North Gwinnett in the championship game of the Collins Hill Classic on Saturday.
Katherine Ahlswede totaled 31 digs, three aces and 154 assists, while Kelly Carelson helped with 44 kills and 26 digs. Erin Ensley finished the day with 20 kills, 39 digs and 16 aces, while T.C. Cobb had 33 kills and three blocks. Sarah Stone contributed 64 digs, six kills and four aces, while Liz Topoleski helped with 26 digs and 19 aces for the Eagles (20-7).
SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett defeated Shiloh, South Gwinnett, Hillgrove, Lambert and Collins Hill to earn first place in the gold division of the Collins Hill Classic on Saturday.
Kelsea Knudsen was named MVP of the tournament and totaled 57 kills, with Alex Panks helping with 18 aces and 129 assists. Virginia Hannah contributed 11 aces and 44 digs, while Michelle Demaris also had 44 digs for North Gwinnett (30-2).
GAC wins 2, loses 3
ATLANTA -- Greater Atlanta Christian beat Marietta and Northgate, but fell to Whitewater, Landmark Christian and St. Pius at the Lovett Block Party on Saturday.
Morgan McKnight contributed 31 kills, Ali Cox had eight blocks, Catherine Chason had 69 digs, and Rachel Valdrop helped with eight aces and 65 assists for GAC (15-10).
