NORCROSS -- Police are asking for help identifying three suspects involved in the violent August robbery of a Norcross pawn shop.
Officials said that on the afternoon of Aug. 25, three armed men entered Dynasty Jewelry and Loan at 5059 Jimmy Carter Blvd., initially pretending to be interested in selling a rare coin.
While an employee was appraising that coin, they pulled out handguns and jumped over the counter. Victims were bound and sprayed with pepper spray, "presumably in an effort to control them and prevent them from observing the suspects more closely," police spokesman Cpl. Brian Kelly said.
Two of the suspects shattered glass display cases, making out with jewelry while the third looted the store's safe.
They made out with a "significant" amount of cash and jewelry.
They were seen fleeing in a silver-colored passenger car, before investigators discovered that the trio split up. One reportedly got into a black Jaguar passenger car while the another lept into a black BMW X5 SUV, then all fled the scene in separate cars.
All three suspects are described as black men approximately 20-30 years of age and between 5-foot-11 and 6 feet tall.
Anyone with information is asked to call Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. Information may result in a $2,000 reward.
