LILBURN — A natural gas leak shut down a section of Killian Hill Road in Lilburn for more than two hours Wednesday afternoon before crews were able to seal off the leak.
A construction crew hit a gas line while doing road work at approximately 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, forcing firefighters and police officers to shut down the road between Lawrenceville Highway and Poplar Drive, spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said.
Four businesses were evacuated but no injuries were reported before crews from Atlanta Gas Light were able to stop the leak at about 3:47 p.m., Rutledge said.
