CUMMING — Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said a grocery store security guard is dead after being shot during a robbery.
Reports said authorities identified the guard as 37-year-old David Casto of Winder. Paxton said Casto was shot in the head and his body was placed in a cooler. The sheriff said the shooting happened at an Ingles store on Canton Road just before midnight Sunday. Paxton said a group of robbers with their faces covered held up the store after closing time. He said two store employees were tied up with duct tape and left in the cooler. The sheriff said the robbers got away with some cash. Paxton said there have been a series of robberies in the county that may be connected.More like this story
