Police say angry ex returns to rob pair

LAWRENCEVILLE -- A Lawrenceville woman and her new beau visiting from out of town awoke to the sound of a semi-automatic pistol racking Wednesday, the woman's estranged ex threatening to kill them, police said.

The 43-year-old male victim, "visibly scared" as he talked to police, said that he awoke at the woman's Mildon Hall Lane apartment to her ex-boyfriend pointing the gun at "his pelvis."

He unsuccessfully attempted to jump out the apartment window before the suspect, Darrin Pressley, reportedly threatened again to kill him and forced him to leave the home at gunpoint.

After he left, the female victim told police, Pressley questioned her about their relationship, the gun pointed at her.

"When (she) would not answer a question, Pressley would point the gun at her until she gave him the correct answer," the report reads.

The suspect ultimately left, the victim told police, making off with two cell phones and $350.

When police returned to the scene, Pressley was nowhere to be found. Officers did find a window screen that had been bent and removed, presumably by Pressley to gain entry to the apartment he had lived in a year before, police said.

Pressley was later found and booked into Gwinnett County Jail on two charges of armed robbery and one count of burglary, and was not granted bail.
