LAWRENCEVILLE — A Gwinnett organization dedicated to increasing self-esteem and leadership skills among girls and young women is gearing up for its annual leadership development program.
The educational enrichment organization I Am B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. is holding open registration for its sixth annual G.I.R.L.S. (Gaining Insight and Real Life Skills) Leadership Development Program, an eight-month program designed to equip girls ages 6 to 18 with life skills, while fostering career development and offering enrichment activities. Girls and young women participating in the program will receive guidance from mentors and participate in group community service projects.
The program will kick off Sept. 25 during the I Am B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Weekend, a celebration of the organization’s six years of service in Gwinnett. Following the kickoff, participants will meet weekly through April.
Those interested in participating in the leadership development program should register before Sept. 20 by calling 404-545-9051 or visiting www.iambeautiful.org for an application.
