PREP ROUNDUP: Tuttle triplets triple in Stars win

LILBURN -- It's probably safe to assume that there have not been many triplets to have hits in the same game for one Gwinnett school. But it might be a first for all three sisters to rip a symbolic triple.

That was the night for the Tuttle family. MacKenzie, Brittany and Tayler each touched third to lead Providence to an 8-0 win in five innings over Fellowship Christian on Thursday. MacKenzie, the oldest, one-upped her sisters with two triples for the Stars (11-5-2, 4-0). She was 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Brittany and Tayler had two RBIs each. MacKenzie also pitched three scoreless innings in relief of winning pitcher Kylie Kleinschmidt (7-4). She struck out six in two innings.

Jessie Kowalewicz and Lauren Eggert each doubled.


Central 5, South 4

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Ashlyn Arp drove in two runs with a game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh to lead Central Gwinnett over South Gwinnett 5-4 on Thursday. Arp finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Black Knights. Kara Hembree went 1-for-2 and stole two bases. Kaitlyn Hussey was the winning pitcher.

North 7, Buford 6

SUWANEE -- Alaina Hall scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning to help North Gwinnett beat Buford 7-6 Thursday. Lacey Najafi went 2-for-4 with a solo homer to lead the Bulldogs (10-4). Tori Prince and Tori Freedman each had two RBIs. Caroline Rogers added two hits. Morgan White (4-0) picked up the win in relief. She struck out one and gave up one hit in two innings.

Mill Creek 5, Peachtree Ridge 1

SUWANEE -- Mill Creek remains unbeaten in Region 7-AAAAA with a 5-1 win at Peachtree Ridge on Thursday. Jenna Holland and Brittany Bass each had two hits and two RBIs for the Lions (11-1, 5-0). Shannon Quinn also had two hits and one RBI. Lauren Kaczynski (4-0) pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits, while striking out one.

Collins Hill 4, Mt. View 2

SUWANEE -- Ally LeGette won her fifth straight game, leading Collins Hill to a 4-2 win over Mountain View on Thursday. LeGette (5-0) pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and no earned runs, while striking out four. Christina Parham led the Eagles (11-1-1, 4-1) with three hits and an RBI. Amber Hulsey hit her first home run of the season. Chelsea Littlejohn added two hits and an RBI. Brittany Roley also had two hits.

Kaylee Hennelly was the losing pitcher for the Bears (3-11-1, 1-4). She allowed eight hits and two earned runs. Hennelly and Kayley Caponi each had two hits. Summer Spataro and Haroline Chavarria each had an RBI.

Parkview 7, Grayson 1

LILBURN -- Parkview defeated Grayson 7-1 in a Region 8-AAAAA game Thursday. Amanda Chambers (4-2) pitched a complete game to earn the win. She allowed four hits and struck out seven. Molly McClure, Sarah McFall and Corie Terwilliger each had two hits and two RBIs for the Panthers (6-4, 3-1). Mia Marshall added two RBIs.

Duluth 10, Norcross 0

NORCROSS -- Duluth took care of rival Norcross 10-0 in a Region 7-AAAAA game Thursday. Jeanie Perrucci pitched a two-hit shutout with four strikeouts to lead the Wildcats (3-5, 2-2). At the plate for Duluth, Jessica Brown went 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Lauren Blanco was 1-for-2.

Brookwood 13, Shiloh 2

SNELLVILLE -- Susan Norris went 4-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Brookwood over Shiloh 13-3 in five innings. Brandi Jones drove in two runs with two hits for the Broncos (12-4, 2-1). Jones also pitched a complete game, with six strikeouts, to get the win. Jessica Neidigh and Rachel Hill each had two hits and an RBI. Katie Gouveia added to the Brookwood offense with a hit.

Amber Stillwell led the Generals (6-5, 2-1) with two doubles. Amber Johnson had a hit, a stolen base, and run scored. Jenna Carr added a double.

Prince Avenue 4, Hebron 2

ATHENS -- Hebron lost to No. 2 Prince Avenue Christian 4-2 Thursday. Kaylin Brooks pitched six innings, allowing three hits and one earned run in the loss for the Lions (3-3, 3-2). Amanda Fischles had a double.

Berkmar 26, Meadowcreek 11

NORCROSS -- Berkmar defeated Meadowcreek 26-11 on 11 hits in Region 8-AAAAA play Thursday night.

Mt. Pisgah 5, Wesleyan 1

ALPHARETTA -- Wesleyan fell at Mt. Pisgah 5-1 Thursday. CaraMia Tsirigos went 2-for- 3 with a homer for the Wolves (3-5).


Peachtree Ridge wins two on road

MT. AIRY -- Peachtree Ridge knocked off Clarke Central 25-10, 25-13 and host Habersham Central 25-10 25-7 on Thursday. Lucy Riddle led the Lions (9-7) with 18 kills, seven aces, and one block. DeLania Sarden added 14 kills; while Kathleen Davis finished with 27 assists. Lauren Greene had five kills, three blocks, and two assists.

Wesleyan splits two non-region matches

COLLEGE PARK -- Wesleyan lost to host Woodward Academy 25-13, 26-24 but rallied to beat Sandy Creek 25-19, 20-25, 25-22 Thursday. Grace Baughn led the Wolves (5-9) with 17 kills and 12 digs. Anna Davis and Alana Broe each added nine kills. Callie Bivings finished with 15 digs, seven kills, and four blocks. Maggie Smith led with 43 assists and added seven kills.

Hebron beats GAC, Brookwood in tri-match

NORCROSS -- Hebron swept its matches with Greater Atlanta Christian 25-19, 25-22 and Brookwood 25-27, 25-23, 25-15 Thursday at GAC. Elise Murray led the Lions (14-3) with 16 kills, Courtney Bishop had 13 kills and Maddi Roof added nine kills. Eden Murray finishes with 20 assists, while Savannah Blalock added 12 assists.

GAC beat Brookwood in the other match 25-22, 25-19. Ali Cox lead the Spartans (9-4) with 13 kills and four blocks. Rachel Waldrop added 15 digs and 10 kills. Catherine Chasom finished with 34 assists and 16 digs. Autumn Adams led with 14 kills and two aces for Brookwood (10-7). Katie Kraft had 28 digs. Erin Shelton added 16 digs and 10 kills.

Norcross splits with Roswell, Kell

ROSWELL -- Norcross fell to Roswell 25-13, 25-19 but rallied to beat Kell 25-22, 24-26, 25-23 on Thursday. Alex DeMercy led with 20 kills and three aces for the Blue Devils (3-5). Sara Snider added seven kills and eight digs, while Lauren Ranney added 23 assists.

Buford handles West Hall, Jefferson

OAKWOOD -- Buford beat host West Hall and Jefferson in three games Thursday. Maggie Roper led the Wolves (18-5) with 16 kills, 27 digs, and five aces. Jessica Falletta added 11 kills and 22 digs. Liz Darder finished with 41 digs.

Central splits at home

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central Gwinnett knocked off South Gwinnett 25-22, 25-20 but lost to Dunwoody 25-18, 25-12 Thursday. Abbey Bridges led the Black Knights (2-10) with 10 digs and three kills. Shantaja Latimore and Nia Hardy each had four kills.

North sweeps Berkmar, Meadowcreek

LILBURN -- North Gwinnett beat Berkmar 25-8, 25-9 and then knocked off Meadowcreek 25-5, 25-10 Thursday. The Bulldogs improved their record to 19-2.

Mt. View gets two road wins

LOGANVILLE -- Mountain View earned two road wins Thursday. The Bears beat host Walnut Grove and Archer in three games each.

Providence splits with Flowery Branch, Loganville

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Providence defeated Loganville 25-15, 25-12 but lost to Flowery Branch 25-14, 21-25, 27-25 on Thursday. The Stars record is now 9-7.
